Allcem

The full porcelain or metal-ceramic piece must be previously submitted to an aluminum oxide jet treatment by the laboratory in order to generate superficial microporosities and in the case of composite pieces, the preparation can also be done with fine burs. Prepare the ceramic piece (if its an etchable ceramic) applying fluoridric acid (e.g. Condac Porcelana, FGM) in its internal surface, according to the manufacturer´s indications. Rinse the piece abundantly with water to remove all the acid and dry it well.

Silanization of the piece: apply silane (Prosil, FGM), which is an uncolored solution, to the piece with the aid of a disposable microapplicator (Cavibrush, FGM) and wait for 1 minute. Dry the surface with slight jets of compressed air.

Select the appropriate color of dual-curing resin cement for cementation of the piece. Place the appropriate amount of Allcem on the spatulation plate and mix the pastes during 10 seconds with spatula or use the self-mixing tip which should be discarded after its use. Allcem is presented in a double-body syringe (base + catalyst pastes) and disposable self-mixing applicator tips, which make the mixture of the pastes in the adequate proportion without creating bubbles. Allcem is also presented in isolated syringes of base paste and catalyst paste.

Apply a fine layer of cement inside the piece or in the cavity covering the whole surface.

Carefully position the piece on the tooth allowing the cement to slowly flow from all the margins.

Keep the piece in position and start cleaning the excess cement approximately 2 minutes after beginning to mix the pastes. In case the excess cement is removed right after the positioning of the piece, the margins should be light cured to impede the effect of the layer inhibited by oxygen. In case of minimally retentive restorations, position the piece and keep it still during the cleaning process of the excess cement.

After removing the excess of cement, light cure each surface and margins for 40 seconds or allow chemical curing to occur for 10 minutes after mixing the pastes.

Proceed to finishing and polishing.

after light curing of the restoration and its margins, remove the excess of cement with a scalpel. The use of rotatory instruments should be avoided before total curing of the cement which may occur in about 10 minutes after mixing the pastes, according to the local temperature.

Instruct the patient not to bite on the restored teeth at least for 15 minutes after cementation.

Prepare the endodontically treated tooth to receive the post.

Etch enamel and dentin for 15 seconds with phosphoric acid at 37% (Condac 37, FGM). Wash with water in abundance and make sure that all the acid has been removed. Dry the canal with the aid of absorbent paper cones and dry dentin/enamel with gentle air blasts leaving the tissue moist.

Apply the adhesive (e.g. Ambar, Ambar APS or Ambar Universal APS, FGM) with the aid of a disposable microaplicator (e.g. Cavibrush, FGM) with active friction inside the root canal for 15 seconds, covering all the walls with a thin layer of adhesive. Make sure there is no excess of adhesive inside the canal. Follow manufacturer´s instructions to evaporate the solvent with air and light cure it for the recommended time.

ALLCEM is incompatible to self etching single-step adhesives (except Ambar Universal APS, FGM) because it can interfere on the chemical cure. Three-step adhesives (Acid+Primer+Adhesive) or two-step adhesives (Acid+Primer/Bond or Acid/ Primer+Bond) are indicated.

Prepare the post (e.g. WhitePost, FGM) applying a thin layer of silane agent (e.g. Prosil, FGM) and wait for 1 minute for it to dry. Apply gentle air streams.

Apply the desired quantity of ALLCEM on a mixing pad and mix it with a spatula for about 10 seconds, or use the self mixing tip in case of the dual body syringe. Apply a thin layer of the mixed cement on the post´s surface and/or inside the prepared root canal with proper instruments.

Place the post inside the canal. Clean the exceeding cement in approximately 2-3 minutes after the mixture of the cement. Proceed to light curing for 40 seconds on the occlusal surface to keep the post stable in position. The use of translucent posts increases the amount of light that get inside the canal, what helps curing the cement.

Proceed to coronal reconstruction of the tooth.
